Lauren Goodwin

Lauren began her career in the space industry, performing systems engineering and integration for NASA on the International Space Station Program. She transitioned into the energy industry leading a team of petroleum engineers supporting offshore operations. Currently, Lauren is a Digital Security and Risk Officer where she provides digital security assurance using a risk based approach for multi-billion dollar Upstream capital projects across the globe. Lauren applies her technical background and experience in energy to be able to properly assess digital security risks and translate that effectively for the business. Lauren has an Executive Master of Science in Technology Management and Cybersecurity from Columbia University in New York. Lauren’s graduate work focused on virtual and augmented reality solutions that uses data analytics to improve performance for highly hazardous and technical industries such as aerospace and energy. She has since taken that work to apply direct to her role in cyber security, even expanding to now include robotic process automation to deliver predictive analytics to drive better cyber protection. She is active in her community speaking to children and their parents by encouraging STEM learning; using her experiences in engineering, cyber security and more recently disruptive technologies like augmented reality as examples.
